At blackbird rags we are passionate about creativity, personal expression, sustainability and making the world a better place. Founder, Alex Crawford, has spent her career in education with a passion in outdoor education and a life long interest in the arts.

“Starting Blackbird Rags felt like a convergence of many aspects of my life. I have always considered myself an artist without a plan. Trying new things but never quite feeling at home with a medium and a style. While these are always evolving, I feel for the first time in my artistic journey that I have landed safely in a niche. My passion for the natural world as well as fashion and sustainability make this brand my love letter to the Earth and its inhabitants.”
